Dear Readers,
Dental amalgam is set to be banned in almost all EU countries by 1 January 2025. Only Czech Republic and Slovenia should be given an eighteen-month delay in order to adapt their healthcare systems.
With our campaign supported by the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, we have been fighting for this for over 10 years, travelling to Brussels and Strasbourg countless times, expanding the European network, participating in all stakeholder consultations, writing reports, protesting in public or placing articles in the media.
The agreement still needs to be adopted by the Parliament and the Council, which is considered a formality. Further details are provided in the article below.
