Dear Readers,
Dental Amalgam has now been banned for 6 months in the EU and we are delighted to have received the Luxembourg Award for Environmental Health & Indoor Air Quality for our work.
The campaign couldn't have been successful without the support of our many partners. Thank you very much!
The EU regulation has made big waves internationally and should give a major boost to a global phase out by 2030.
The European Network, together with the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, will fight for this decision at COP6 of the Minamata Convention.
We will also continue to engage in the implementation of the amendment to protect children from the use of dental amalgam, which entered into force on 28 September 2023.
Please read our latest news below.
Yours sincerely,
Florian
