Dear Readers,

On 14 July, the European Commission published a draft legislation to phase out dental amalgam by 2025. The revision of the EU Mercury Regulation has been expected since December 2022 and also includes a further ban on a variety of mercury-containing lamps.

This regulation is about to eliminate all remaining intentional uses of mercury in the EU, as it is highly toxic.

Yours sincerely,
