Dear Readers,
Welcome to our newsletter. We are committed to a toxic-free future and are particularly pleased to update you on the political developments towards phasing out dental amalgam and the international regulation of hazardous chemicals.
The revision of the EU Mercury Regulation is making rapid progress and there is still reason to hope that it will be adopted before the European elections next June.
Progress was also made at COP5 of the Minamata Convention: It was decided that Parties, which have not yet phased out dental amalgam, shall submit a report or a national action plan on the phase down or phase out every four years.
And the Global Framework on Chemicals was adopted, finally laying the groundwork for tackling the third planetary environmental crisis.
Details and further news can be found in our posts below.
In the coming year, we especially have to keep working on the revision of the EU Mercury Regulation and are counting on your financial support.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yours sincerely,
Florian Schulze |
