The EnvMed Network is a nonprofit organisation engaged in establishing Environmental Medicine in Europe. Given the increasing amount of harmful chemicals in the environment and the growing scientific evidence of correlations with chronic diseases, we are committed to reduce environmental exposures, promoting research into health links and treatments, better aligning medical care with these findings, and facilitating patient access to analysis.
One of the most common environmental burdens on the population is still mercury. The EnvMed Network is therefore campaigning internationally for a phase-out of dental amalgam. To this end, we are working together with the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, whose EU-wide campaign we are leading.
In Germany, the IG Umwelt Zahnmedizin was founded for the dental amalgam campaign in 2017, from which the Network for Environmental Medicine emerged.
