Florian Schulze received the Luxembourg Award for Environmental Health & Indoor Air Quality from Akut, Neobuild, Patiente Vertriedung and Scente in the Public Relations category. The award was presented by Tilly Metz, Vice-President of the Health Committee in the European Parliament, for the campaign to phase out amalgam in the EU. 🏆
The award ceremony took place on 16 May at the Parc Plaza Hotel in Luxembourg. Other international awards went to Jean Huss for his work on the amalgam phase-out as a member of the European Council in 2011, Professor Dr Wolfgang Huber for his work on the German Holzschutzmittelprozess and André Cicolella for his work on endocrine disruptors.
Florian Schulze: “It was an honour for me to hold a short presentation on our campaign, which began with the adoption of the Minamata Convention on Mercury in January 2013, and to thank our international network. I was particularly pleased that Stefan Eck, Rapporteur for the EU Mercury Regulation 2017 in the European Parliament, came in person.”
